File Not Found
Before I started this blog, I lived on a pedestal of judgment. I looked at other bloggers, podcasters, content creators … all of the above and thought, “how dare they set a schedule and then fail to deliver?!”
Well … here I am. I set a schedule and for MULTIPLE weeks, I’ve failed to deliver. Funny how things change when you’re in the driver’s seat, right? It’s been a strange pill to swallow because I don’t feel like a “failure” but it’s made me realize that life is busy and it’s VERY easy for days to turn into a week, a week to turn into weeks and before you know it … you’ve missed a due date.
I applaud the creators that can hold on strong to a schedule. I admire the few and the proud that continue to make deadlines even though life has thrown them all the curveballs. Bravo, people because I realized I am not that person; however, I refuse to put something out there just to appease the people. I would rather wait, simmer and put something out there that I’m proud to share.
I had a few busy weeks that not only sparked creativity but unintentionally prevented me from developing that same creativity. I spent an overdue weekend in Georgia with two of my best friends and my adorable godson. I ventured to the Mile High City and the mountains around it to hold down the fort as the lone gay at a butch bachelor party for another close friend. I stepped up to the plate with an organization that means the world to me. And I faced one of my fears in the world of running and had an epiphany that made me completely rethink my whole running mindset.
There's gold on the horizon but right now I'm just pulling up a whole lotta "file not found."
If you’ve got advice for a guy stuck in a rut, feel free to drop it in the comments or send a carrier pigeon if that’s easier!
